About Rock Your Talk

Rock Your Talk is a blog that is dedicated to helping you become a better public speaker. Here you will find hints, tips, stories and even the odd video that will put right some common mistakes, give you some handy techniques and even give you a walk through of how to prepare a talk, deliver it and keep getting better.

The blog is edited by Jonathan Downie. Jonathan is a public speaker, researcher and conference interpreter from Edinburgh in Scotland. He has been speaking in public since the age of 13 and created Rock Your Talk when he realised that much of the advice out there for public speakers stops at a fairly basic level. He is available for one-on-one coaching and group sessions. You can contact him via the Contact page above.

Thanks for the useful information! I completely agree that the advice is not only basic, but entirely lacking when it comes to the technical tips (e.g. tempo, pitch etc.) Looking forward to more posts.
